8-Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! 9-Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works!
10-Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! 11-Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore! 12-Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth, 13-O seed of Israel His servant, You children of Jacob, His chosen ones!1 Chronicles 16:813
All believers are called to give thanks, sing praise, seek God’s face, and remember God’s wonders, miracles, and judgments. Most of all, we’re called to do these things openly to let people know what God can and will do for the obedient! You might think praise and worship only happens when we get to church but it’s supposed to be something we do to honor God anytime and everywhere we go. Then by the time we get to the sanctuary, we won’t have to be pumped and primed by the praise leader.
It doesn’t do any good for people trapped in dark and sinful lifestyles if we don’t praise the God who created and sustains us in front of them.
Eternal Father, please give us the desire and courage to let our praise and worship be lights to people trapped in this world’s evil darkness. Let us be the light this world needs to experience your love and understanding on a scale they never thought possible. In the name of Jesus – Amen.
