Romans 5:6-8 (NKJV) – 6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
It is rare for anyone to die so that someone else can live. It is rare for someone to die in the place of someone who deserves to die. Jesus stepped forward and died for us. We were sinners worthy of death, but Christ took our place. We were on death row but Christ came and pardoned us with His own life.
Father thank you for sacrificing your only begotten Son for us. We are grateful and we owe our lives as a sacrifice to you. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
