Daniel 6:1-10 focusing on verses 3  and 4 NLT version:

“Daniel soon proved himself more capable than all the other administrators and high officers. Because of Daniel’s great ability, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire. Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.

Daniel 6:3-4

Today’s reading shows us how God gave favor to Daniel and he was despised because of that favor. The late John Lewis a Civil Rights activist coined the slogan “Good Trouble”. Daniel got in good trouble because of his faith and obedience to God.

The only way the governors in Babylon could stop him was to catch Daniel doing his routine of praying. Not through him doing wrong but doing what’s right.

I want us to relate to this passage today and think about this question: “If someone wanted to stop us would they be able to use the righteous or unrighteous acts we do?” We have a choice.

My Lord and my God. I pray we realize even when we’re doing your will, there will be some people who will come against us. Help us realize that it’s not us they’re coming after, but your Spirit that you’ve placed inside of us. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
