12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:12-14
Whew! The holiday season is finally over. I gladly forget the busyness of the holiday season, and I gladly remember why we have this time in the first place. Our Savior Jesus Christ was born to bring salvation into the world, and His mission is ongoing today. I gladly remember that Jesus died on the cross for us.
If you are reading this post then you are a blessed person because you made it to a new year. There are a lot of people who didn’t make it this far, but you did! I ask the question. “How new is this New Year?” Well, that’s up to each individual. We all have been made free to make choices, but let’s be honest, some of our choices set us backward instead of propelling us forward.
A lot of people made resolutions that are more than likely promises to do better, feel better, and look better. Some of us make several resolutions. I pray your main resolution is to improve your relationship with Christ. I pray He is at the top of your list of resolutions. And if He is, I pray you don’t forget your resolutions and wind up making the same ones next year, “if the Lord is willing.”
I pray you will experience supernatural growth spiritually first, and then naturally. I pray you delight yourself in the Lord so you can receive the desires of your heart. In the name of Jesus – Amen.
