Look Up!

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help. My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.”

Psalm 121:1-2

Does it seem things have gotten out of hand in your home, workplace and the world? It seems our government is spiraling out of control and our country is divided more than it has been since it’s birth. If you’re wondering about the outcome that’s understandable but don’t forget we have help during these chaotic times.

I saw a meme on Facebook this past week that read something like this:

“God made the earth out of nothing, don’t you know He can handle your problems?”

There is no problem we face that the Lord can’t help us with. There is no storm of life that He can’t help us navigate through it. There is no sorrow heaven cannot heal. He made the heaven and the earth, I’m sure and I am a witness God can do anything but fail!

The Psalmist is encouraging us through the written word of God, look at the suggestion: “Lift up my eyes to the hills.” If we pay too much attention to problems and not enough to God, our head will hang low! Get this! If you are looking up at the hills for your help, then there’s no way you can hang your head and look down, worrying about things around you. Then we’re told the help we seek in the hills will come from the one who made heaven and earth.

Beloved. Be encouraged today and know that God has never lost control, His ears are not dull that He won’t hear our cry when we’re in need. I’m a witness that He will hear and He will answer. And when He answers, He will always do more than what we ask for.
